Raised in Scotland and Malawi, I have been fascinated with culture, language and stories from a young age.
The Metro Vancouver area has been my home since 2002. I have a B.A. in Sociology, an M.A. in International and Intercultural Communication, and a Certificate in Journalism—programmes that helped me delve deeper into my own diverse upbringing and my interest in knowing more about the world and people in general.
My fascination with stories and storytelling continues to this day and I often explore ways in which it deepens our understanding of the world and helps build connections.
The world needs more poetry and discovering new poets—and reacquainting myself with old favourites—is a passion. I’m a writer and have had essays and articles published in the Lisbon-based Fields and Stations, The Langara Voice, Schema Magazine, and Media Diversified.
